Read the following passage carefully and answer all the questions which follow
The debate as to whether the doctor is more important than the farmer has gone for quite some time now. In most cases a school of thought tend to believe that the doctor is more important than the farmer.
Another school of thought have different opinion that, the twenty – first century doctor commands a lot of respect for the great work he does. Of course, if doctors can diagnose and cure us from minor ailments like headache, stomach troubles, and go ahead to perform major operations like splitting the head, opening the chest to bring out human heart and restore them for people to live again, then everybody should bow to them for such excellence. Indeed, they are super – human. “A healthy mind is a sound body,” in fact doctors ought to be praised for our health needs.

On the other side of the coin stands the farmer who in his obscure corner, works seriously on the land for our food needs. It is a fact that every living being needs to eat in order to survive including the ‘almighty’ doctor. True to the fact that nobody moves to work or perform any task unless the stomach has satisfied. There is a saying, “army marches on its stomach. The importance of food and especially the farmer, cannot be over – emphasised. It is food that gives us health and in fact, survival.
In conclusion, I would like to establish that the elegant and air-conditioned office of the doctor should not lure anyone to place them above the hardworking farmer who toils to supply our food needs though in shabby and tattered clothing.
Obviously, the situation is comparable to the various parts of human body. Each part is as important as the other and thus, the farmer is as important as the doctor. Of course, the two would need each other very much.
