GNACOPS Jolly Phonics Basic Staff Training Course: Register Here

The Ghana National Council of Private Schools is organizing jolly phonics training course. This training is to ensure that participants, especially teaching staff are equipped with basic jolly phonics skills.

Jolly phonics has been embraced in all classrooms across the globe. It has been proven to be the new paradigm which provides a cutting edge approach to solving literacy challenges.

This article will provide a link where interested parties can register and be part of this training. The jolly phonics training is scheduled to occur in a day two periods, stating from the 1 and ends on the 2 of September next month

Though this training section is spearheaded by the GNACOPS but it is opened to everyone. It is design to help improve the skills of classroom instructors to deliver to the highest degree when treating literacy skills. Jolly phonics is actually good and being part of the training gives you nothing but the best.

Some importance of jolly phonics

It is a great substitute for traditional method of teaching a kid how read and write. Unlike the traditional way of reading and writing, this one touches on key important aspect of literacy. This allows the kid naturally picks up the concept and begins to apply them. In short no need for the ‘say these words after me’.

It focuses more on letter sounds instead of letter names. Teaching literacy using this method is very easy for the child to absorb the content easy. Unlike the traditional method which favours the few who are considered good absorbers. This is the style, we all have been taken through and I must say, we are lucky to have been able absorbed something. Times have come where we need to focus on less difficult approach in dispensing literacy lessons in the classrooms.

Learners are taught letter sounds and how to blend these letter sounds to form words. This is done is bits at a time. Compares to none, not trying to chide other methods used in teaching literacy but this seems to be awesome.

Kids enjoy it the most when lessons are made in a playful way, jolly phonics made good use of actions to keep learners engaged.

Aside this jolly phonics training, the GNACOPS is currently putting plans to ensure that private schools teachers are registered temporarily and issued with temporal licencing certificates. This is said to begin in the Greater Accra region.
