- The National School Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA)
- The district Education Service Unit (Local Authority)

Registration processes

One, to register your school, the school has to be first registered as a business.
You can do this with the Registrar General Department. At the Registrar General Department, you will be asked for some key information about the new business you want to open.

Getting registered with the Registrar General Department alone is not enough to get your school operated. This is what mostly prospective school owners do. They move to register their schools with the Registrar of Businesses thinking that it is final. To get started, you need to be licensed by the National Schools Inspectorate Authority. Once the documentation aspect is done, a team will be sent by NaSIA to inspect your school. They will find out if the set-up of your school meets the criterion outlined by them.
Once the inspection team leaves, they will make a report on what thy made of your school for further assessments.
If approved your school will be issued a valid license to operate, make sure to register with the local authority (District/municipal education service) as well.
