3 Foods and Non-Food Related Items Which Are K!lling Us Slowly According to Findings

Food they say is inseparable from humans since it is the major means through which we obtain all the essentials nutrients. These nutrients are needed by the body for the optimum performance and our general wellbeing. But certain foods and foods related items when not used in the right context might jeopardize our health.

There are some food and non-food items that may be k!lling us slowly than we think. Researches both on local and international fronts have provided substantial evidences to backing these claims. Though many sometimes disapprove these claims, but these are scientifically proven.

These foods and non-food items have been with us for ages and we continue to feed and use them daily. But how harmful and dangerous are they? We provide that in the lines below. Despite the harmful effects humans get from these they are still inseparable. Why then do have to feed on and use them? They are harmful because of how we use them. How then should we use and feed on them.

Foods and Non-food items with high health risk

  1. The first food that we are dissecting into is scorch food (burnt under of foods). There are some which are very common and enjoyed by many. They are sometimes use as substitute for the main foods. These include, TZ, banku, rice; most especially jollof rice. A lot of people dine on these foods without the knowing harmful side of it.

Though some people take delight in taking them but they are filled with chemicals which are considered dangerous for One’s self. Burnt foods and foods parts contain high concentration of Acrylamide.

This chemical can be found in carbohydrate foods substances and at a high temperature increases the chances of getting cancer. This is after having taking them for a long period of time.

  • The next food and non-food item we want to talk about is cut onions. Yeah, onions. One of our great spices. Onions, when cut-open became very poisonous to eat them in a later date. There are many a time when preparing our foods we slice some onions and sometimes leaving half bulbs unused. This is then kept in a fridge or a storage facility with the intention of reusing them.

Cut onions have the ability of absorbing micro bacteria which are not seen, when consumed can affect your health life.

Onions are considered to have antimicrobial effects, which is on a good side.

This means it has the ability to fighting bacteria but when not handled properly can be very dangerous.  To avoid such adversarial impacts, store your cut onions in a sealed container and keep them in a refrigerator. With this, they can last for a week.

Point Three

  • The next one (non-food item) happens to be plastics being used to wrap warm foods. Using plastics to wrap foods and food items generally has no side effect but when temperature increases, expects nothing but the worst. Plastics contain chemicals which can diffuse into foods wrapped with them whenever there is a slight increase in temperature.

They contain toxic substances like potassium persulfate and benzoyl peroxide which can cause respiratory disorders and also affect the endocrine system. The impact is not seen in any immediate period but as they compound we begin to suffer its negative effects.

Other findings have gone ahead to equate this to smoking 135 sticks of cigarettes.

Conclusion

The above are basically the foods and non-foods items which seem to be having blind negative effects on human lives. Just recently publications were made by the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi on the health risks of warm foods wrapped in rubber. You can use these rubbers but just know that when temperature rises the negative effects can’t be controlled. Do well to get yourself some biodegradable materials (banana leaves) to wrap your foods.

If possible make sure you don’t cook your foods to burn so you don’t get to suffer from the risk associated with scorch foods. And as indicated above, keep your cut onions in a sealed container and store them in your refrigerators for safety.
