Read the following passage carefully and answer the following questions

(20 marks)

There are many major towns and cities in Ghana. Some of the major towns are Cape Coat, Sunyani, Koforidua and Ho. Others are Wa, Bolgatanga and Tamale. They are all capital towns of some regions in Ghana. There are other big towns like Swedru, Nkawkaw, Mampong and Tarkwa. The cities in Ghana are Accra, Kumasi, Tema and Sekondi-Takoradi. There are many people in the major towns and cities.

There are important places in the major towns and cities. There are basic schools, Senior High Schools and Universities in them. Cape Coast has the first secondary school. It is Mfantsipim School. It also has the University of Cape Coast. Many students from all over the Ghana study in Cape Coast.

The city of Tema is famous for its factories. Many things like soap, margarine and petrol are made there. There are two harbours in Tema. They are main harbour and fishing harbour. Accra is capital city of Ghana. The native people of Accra are Gas. They have a festival called ‘Homowo’. Their chief is Ga-Mantse.

The University of Ghana is in Accra. Kumasi is the garden city of Ghana. It is the capital of Ashanti Region. Kumasi is where the great King of Ashanti resides. He is the Ashantehene. He sits on the Golden Stool. Kumasi has the Kwame Nkruamah University of Science and Technology. Second-Takoradi is the capital of Western Region. It has the Takoradi harbour. Timber and other minerals like manganese and bauxite are exported through the Takoradi harbour.
