Critical thinking: 21st century is should be able to analyze issues and to be able to proffer solutions to issues around him or her

Creativity: the student should be able to think outside his immediate environment and create something to help solve societal problems

Collaboration: the 21st century student should be able to work together with others. He or she should be able to work with others without any hindrances.
Fourth
Communication: there cannot be collaboration with others without communication. This ability requires one to communicate effectively with peers and with people around him.

Information literacy: the world we are in now is an informational one; anyone who is able to fit perfectly in it should understand basic facts and figures. The individual should be able to base on data and statistical evidence in drawing concrete conclusions.

Media literacy: this involves the individual’s ability to understand the terrain and the dynamics in which information can be published.

Technology literacy: technology is driving the world and as a 21st century student needs to understand about machines that have made this information world possible.
Eighth
Flexibility: individual should be able to adapt to changes to sit times and situational needs. Situations and times keep changing; the 21st century student should be able to change to suit these challenging times.
Ninth
Leadership: this is a social skill which involves individual’s ability to lead and motivate team or group to meet set goals.
Tenth
Initiative: it should be noted that 21st century student is not trained to be employed by someone else but they are people who are trained to bring out something new which is geared towards solving problems. In short, he should be able to plan, and bring out something new on his own.
Eleventh
Productivity: this involves the individual’s ability to maintain efficiency in the era of distractions.
Twelfth
