Day one into the conduct of the Basic Education Certificate Examination is gone. The battle is not yet over, candidates partaking in this year’s exams have up to Friday, 21October to drop down their tools.
Until then, they will have to keep their souls uplifted in trying times. Included in this content, is the BECE 2022 Statistics and all that you need to know about the conduct of the exams.
It should be noted that for the first time WAEC is conducting both the private and school BECE concurrently. This is only happening across the country with selected centres.

Below are the numbers behind the conduct of the 2022 BECE examinations. The actual BECE 2022 Statistics,
A total of Five hundred and fifty-two thousand, two hundred and seventy-six (552,276) candidates are sitting for this year’s BECE exams. This figure in includes, candidates sitting for the private exams.
Out of this number, Two hundred and Seventy-six thousand nine hundred and eighty-eight (276,988) are males; Two hundred and seventy-five thousand, two hundred and eighty-eight (275, 288) also being females.
Private candidates’ statistics stand at One Thousand, One hundred and thirty-two (1,132); All sitting for the private exams in Fifteen (15) selected schools across the country.
For the case of the schools’ exams, a total of Eighteen Thousand, Five hundred and one (18,501) schools are on on-board. Also Two Thousand and Thirty-eight (2,038) centres are in used across the country.
