National Science and Maths Quiz Mistress: Senior High School, College and University attended

The National Science and Maths Quiz Mistress goes by the name, Dr Elsie Effah Kauffmann. She is an academic administrator and a Biomedical Engineer. Dr Elsie has key research interest in Biomaterials, Engineering design, and Tissue Engineering. It is of no surprise she is currently the host of the most talked about intellectual battle show in Ghana and across the African continent, the NSMQ.

When did Dr Elsie become the National Science and Maths Quiz Mistress? Well, before 2006, the National Science and Maths competition was hosted by Eureka Emefa Adomako. This was from the period between 2001 and 2005, but of course the first ever quiz mistress to ever host the competition was Marian Ewurama Addy. This was also for the period between 1993 and 2000.

Dr Elsie took over the mantle as the National Science and Maths Quiz Mistress in the year 2006. The respectable personality attended the Aburi Girls’ Senior High school where she pursued Science. She furthered her education at the UWC of Atlanta and University of Pennsylvanian.

She has been on the international front and has received several recognitions in that respect, one of such is the ‘Fellow of the International Women’s Forum Leadership Foundation’.

Lest I forget she also studied with the Ghana Communications Technology, here in Ghana. The Science and Maths Quiz mistress was born on the 7 September 1969.

Since taken over as the Quiz Mistress of the Science and Maths Quiz in 2006, she has been the one hosting the competition till now. She’s loved by many and has the respect of all Ghanaians, especially those in the academia and many across the world.  

Lastly, she currently works with the University of Ghana, the Premium University in the country.
