GOOD NEWS TO ALL TEACHERS IN GHANA
Teachers who have a degree in basic education can now switch to teaching in the SHS.A teacher who wishes to teach in the SHS and has a degree can do so by applying to ‘SWITCH 3.1 PROGRAMMES’ introduced by UCC,College of Distance Education in collaboration with GNAT-ASHANTI.
The duration of the programme is 1year which has 3 semesters and this is a specialisation programme.
It is going to be face to face lectures on weekends and a midweek lecture on zoom.The study centres will be across the regional capitals of the country.Some of the proposed centres include Kumasi,Accra,Tema,Kasoa,Sefwi Wiawso,Ho,Sunyani,Tamale,Techiman,Bolga,Wa,Koforidua,Cape Coast and Takoradi.However,additional centres will be created based on the number of applicants within a particular geographical location with the intention of bringing the centres closer to students.
The fee for the forms is GH150.00 at the specified banks or through MoMo.One can generate his or her pin for the online application via www.ucc.edu.gh.
Fees per semester ranges between 1500 to 1600 with flexible terms of payment.
A teacher who is already teaching at the SHS can apply for a course he/she pursued as a minor at the university.Again,one can apply for a course that was pursued at SHS.However,a general arts student for instance cannot switch to pursue a science programme.
NB:Diploma or HND holders do not qualify to apply.
