2023 Academic Year: Third Term Week Ending and Holidays for Basic Schools

The third term which begins on the 26^th of June is scheduled to be on through to the 14^th of September, 2023. This means that students at the basic education are going to be school for 12 weeks. All these are attempts by the Ghana Education Service to ensuring that basic schools revert to the normal academic calendar which usually starts in September.

This article will provide all the week endings and holidays for basic schools. Knowing the week endings will enable schools, teachers, plan for the term an in regards with termly activities.

Holidays for basic schools – 2023 Academic year

In all learners are going to have three public holidays. Eid ul Adha which is on the 29^th of June, follow by the Republic holiday which is going to be on the 1^st of July. The last public holiday in term three for schools is the Founder’s Day which is on the 4^th of August. By this time, BECE candidates will have only three days left to sit for the exams.

Week Ending for Third Term

The first week one will end on the 30^th of June

Week two will end on the 7^th of July

Also, week three will end on the 14^th of July

Fourth week will end on the 21^st of July

Fifth week ends on the 28^th of July

With sixth week ending on the 4^th of August, which happens to be Founder’s day?

Seventh, eighth and ninth week ending 11^th, 18^th, and 25^th August respectively

Then, tenth, eleventh and twelfth week ending on 1^st September, 8^th September and 14^th September respectively There will be no active teaching from the 10^th to the 12^th week.

10^th week will be for revision, 11^th week for examination and 12^th week will be for vacation.
