BECE Graduates: GES Releases 2023 Schools Selection Date, Check Date and Avail Yourself
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken a decisive step to facilitate the transition of candidates who have just completed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) into their desired senior high schools. In an official letter dated August 11th, the GES revealed the forthcoming date for the school selection process, marking a significant milestone in the educational journey of these candidates.
With a strong commitment to ensuring that both parents and candidates are well-informed about the selection procedure, the GES has planned a crucial sensitization program scheduled for August 18th. This program is to ensure that candidates and their parents with a comprehensive understanding of the processes involved in the school selection process. By providing them with the necessary knowledge, the GES aims to empower candidates and parents to make well-considered and informed choices that align with their aspirations.
It’s important to emphasize that the selection of schools marks the initial phase in securing admission to senior high schools across the nation. Candidates are granted the opportunity to select a total of six senior high schools. Specifically, they are allowed to pick one school from category A and B each and they have the flexibility to choose more than one school from both category C and D.
2023 SCHOOLS SELECTION date
To ensure the smooth facilitation of the selection of schools, candidates are advised to be present at the junior high schools where they completed their studies from August 23th to 4th September, 2023. These designated days will provide candidates with the opportunity to finalize their school selections. By adhering to this timeline, candidates can ensure that they are on track to gain admission into their preferred senior high schools.
GES has also stated that after the selection process, a USSD code will be released for candidates and parents to verify the choice of schools made. This will pave way for the needed corrections to be made if there is any error.
