Section of Ghanaians on the popular social media platform has vented their anger on traders and driver. According to them, the cedi has gained strength against the dollar, yet prices of commodities on the market keep soaring. Fuel which was selling around at higher cost now lowered but drivers are not reducing transport fares.

Currently, the Cedi is trading against the major trading currency at 12.80p.  Again the petrol and diesel sell at 14 cedis and 17 with some pesewas respectively, yet transport fares have been reduced.

Netizens believe that, we are the cause of our problems and the government alone cannot be blamed for the current woes. The assertion being that, at the time the Dollar floored the cedi, traders increased their prices.

Drivers and transports owners upon realizing that prices of fuel were soaring, they increased fares. Now, both sides are refusing to reduce to that effect.

This Ghanaians on social media say it’s, wickedness. While critiquing about this unchilling situation, some suggested that, the government must put in measures to regulate prices at this time since the factors that caused for prices increment are lowered.
